Introduction

Welcome!

We love
homeschooling, reading great books, learning old-time homemaking skills, cooking, and caring for our animals and pets.  We would love to share some of our "gleanings" on these topics and more, plus some encouragement for mothers in our devotions.

This website's purpose is to teach "good things".  I have always loved these verses, and sought out Godly women to be my mentors.  Some of these women I have had the privelege to call my friends, sisters, and, of course, my mother and mother-in-law.  Others I have only met through their writing.  I am so grateful that they took the time to write their words of wisdom for me to read, absorb, and put into practice.  One day it dawned on me that I, too, am older than some other women, therefore I should also be teaching the things I have learned.

(Titus 2:3)  The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
(Titus 2:4)  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
(Titus 2:5)  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Please take some time to browse the pages to glean some new nugget of wisdom, take away a "good thing" that you can put into practice today!

Bookmark this page so you can come back and glean some more another time - this site is continually being updated.

       Although we live in New Zealand, I have set up this website for an international audience, therefore  I will sometimes use "American" terminology, rather than New Zealand terms.

I hope you find here some words of wisdom or encouragement to help you on your journey through life.
